Technical Guide: Operating the Model 94 for Perfect Alignment & Efficiency

The Model 94’s design emphasizes “set-it-and-forget-it” simplicity. Automatic character spacing keeps horizontal alignment consistent, even with frequent dial changes, ensuring professional, legible multi-line marks every time.

Setup & Stamping Process (Step-by-Step)

  1. Secure the Part — Place your nameplate, tag, or flat part under the three integrated clips to hold it firmly stationary during the stroke.
  2. Position the Table — Loosen the table screw and slide the table in/out to align your starting line. Adjust vertically (via the table mechanism) to accommodate varying part thicknesses.
  3. Set Impression Depth — Turn the knurled nut at the base of the press to fine-tune depth. Once set, every character indents uniformly—critical for consistent readability.
  4. Prepare the Starting Position — Pull the handle halfway down and slide the table fully to the right (or left, depending on direction) to align the dial a few spaces before your marking area. Return the handle to the top.
  5. Engage Spacing (Blank Space Start) — Pull the handle halfway once more to activate the spacing mechanism without stamping—this ensures proper engagement and prevents misalignment on the first real character.
  6. Select & Stamp — Rotate the mono-character dial by hand to your desired letter/number/symbol. Pull the lever fully down to stamp, then release—it automatically advances the table for the next character.
  7. Multi-Line Marking — For additional lines, loosen the thumb screw, slide the table inward to the next vertical position, and repeat steps 5–6.
