This month marked the 15,000th sale of the Model 40B, our longest-running and most popular metal stamping tool. Designed to make a consistent, long-lasting mark on nearly any flat metal surface, the 40B has been at the heart of Numberall’s business for over 80 years. The 15,000th sale was made to the maintenance department of an Alaskan hospital, where the machine will be used for key stamping.
The journey to this milestone began in 1939 with the creation of the Model 40. Body style modifications came in 1950, which resulted in a name change to the Model 40A. A refinement of the 40A design, the Model 40B came a few years later and included a number of features to improve operator use and efficiency. Weighing only 40 pounds, the Model 40B is a compact and reliable tool with the versatility required to complete stamping projects across a wide variety of metals. At the perfect crosspoint between product effectiveness and ease of use, the 40B makes stamping easy without sacrificing portability or product lifespan, making use of an elegant design with no die cast parts. Many Model 40B stamping tools sold in the mid 1900s are still actively in use.
Like all Numberall products, the Model 40B is manufactured in Sangerville, Maine, USA. However, you can find a Model 40B in nearly every state in the U.S., as well as many countries all around the world. If the sales continue, we will hit number 20,000 in just a few years.”
