Numberall can produce equipment for Embossing or Debossing. The majority of our equipment is used for “identing”. However, if you need a raised character (like a vehicle license plate or Vin number) or a sunk character (the opposite side of a license plate), we can manufacture a numbering head or arrange one of our bench presses for embossing.
One picture is a set of our Model 50P for serial numbering. It was a large character size for a tag that had to be easily read. it was placed in the customers die set and the tags were automatically feed into the die set.
There is a group of pictures of our Model 50P for serial numbering, but the frame legs are extended for static information stamped with the serial number. This Model 50P set was totally custom. It was used in a die set to quickly produce tags to be used in a molding process. A picture of typical tags is included. Another picture shows a standard Model 50P along with the Embossing set. As you note, the Model 50P Embossing set is much larger that our standard Model 50P.
We can also modify our presses for 2 of the Model 23P type holders and type for embossing. This application was to produce a batch of tags with the same information, to process thru a galvanizing operation. The Type holders are easily removable to replace the male and female pieces of type. Shown is the Model 136 Hand Operated Press, tag fixture and 2 Model 23P Type Holders.

Meet Mike Scott and wish him a happy retirement. After 38 years, Mike is retiring. If you have purchased a Model 40B, Model 23 Type Holder or any other press, Mike did the machining and most of the assembly. His function was to run and organize the press department. Making sure the other machinists were working on the proper parts to keep our quick deliveries. All presses, platforms, type holders, and the special fixtures was his responsibility. Keeping stock of all the inventory was another function. Giving purchasing lists of items such as nuts & bolts to casting, was under his control. If sales could not help solve a problem with the machine, you may have talked to Mike, to get your machine up and running.
Mike liked rebuilding the machines that he built.. My favorite saying to him was, here’s another one that was needs your help. It’s only 25 years old, couldn’t you have made it a little better? He’d respond I’ll fix it to last another 25 years!
His work ability was tremendous. Always making sure that product was 100% (or more). Working with engineering, suggesting changes or procedures to make and produce the best product. Mike always stepped up, when we needed parts made or assemble a machine in a rush. Especially when making modifications to allow customers parts to fit. Thanks Mike, it is appreciated!
We wish Mike and his wife the best in their retirement. We’re sure he’ll stop in to make sure we are doing it properly!!
Our Model 301 or 301A Cylindrical Marking Presses sometimes require special fixtures to hold odd shaped parts. They may be multiple diameters, hex shapes or just long parts needing additional support. It may be a dedicated fixture for just one part. Or it may have to be adjustable to fit a family of parts. We have designed and manufactured hundreds of fixtures. Some designs allow the fixture to move in and out. Others are stationary. Some are very complicated due to the part design. Others are very simple that require just a groove in the roller for clearance. For hollow parts with thin walls, we have an arbor design, so that the part will not bend when marking.
The pictures below show some the variations we have designed.
Numberall can make special holding fixtures for all their marking tools. For this application, the customer required a mark on the inside diameter (ID) of a piece of pipe. The ID range is 4″ to 8″. That allow us to make a block to insert the stamp. The block was then mounted to a shank of heat treated steel with a handle. Because the ID was large, the block fits into the diameter. The spacing of the block, allows the customer to mark the same distance from edge of the pipe regardless of the diameter. The large shank allow the operator to push against the diameter of the pipe and move the fixture till the stamp locates on the ID. The operator then uses a hammer blow to make the impression. As we prepare the office for the new year, it‘s always interesting to reflect on past years. Looking through an old file drawer, we noticed the many changes thru the years in the catalogs. (more…)
Numberall can modify our marking tools to suit many applications. In this example the customer was stamping a part that needed to be a curved line. Also, clearance issues required a unique modification. The engraving not only had to be offset to produce a curved line, it had to be adjusted to stamp 30 degrees from normal. (more…)
With the first year of the new decade coming to a close, we have much to be thankful for here at Numberall. We were able to help many new and repeat customers in 2020, meet their metal marking needs, and fulfill various custom orders, including this Model 50P we modified to solve a customer’s clearance issue. Like many, we are excited to see what 2021 has in store. (more…)
Numberall has many choices for the Model 23P Type Holder. Not just character size and capacity, but we can modify the Model 23P for just about any type of marking. (more…)
Numberall can modify any of our marking tools. In this application our customer asked us to produce our Model 50P to fit a specific area. (more…)
Numberall repairs and rebuilds their products. A few weeks ago, we received a Model 50P for repair. It just needed a couple parts, cleaning & oiling. In continuous use since 1947. How many manufacturers can supply parts and repair 73 year old tools? We shipped it, the day after the customer approved the quote. A testimony to Numberall’s quality and support. As always Made in USA!
Numberall manufacturers identification equipment for all industries. Here’s a custom setup for marking coins. Using the Model 301 hand operated cylindrical marking press to mark around the edge of the coin. We used our standard adjustable holding fixture and added adjustable stops and non-marring clamp faces. Designed for a range of coins from 3/4″ to 2-1/4″ diameter, with a thickness of 3/32″ to 1/4″.
This customer uses our Model 23P Type Holder and standard steel type to put a special message around the coin.
This setup has oversize endplates for additional clearance. We also, made a series of riser blocks, to fit under the fixture to raise the coins within the adjustment of the sliding head. This is needed when going from small diameters to large diameters. Our Model 301-A can be used for this application.
If a serial number is needed, we recommend our Model 50P. An option would be to extend a frame leg and make a slot to hold type or a special logo. Various other styles of marking devices are available and can be customized to suit the application.
We can also supply other fixtures for products that require information to be stamped around the part. Made in the USA!
Numberall has just shipped a custom Model 50P for stamping serial numbers. We had to make additional angled clearance cuts, change the return springs from a coil to an extension style, put a large character on a smaller wheel design. Our customer had clearance issues that was solved with some creative engineering. As always, Made in USA!!
